Use of computers to manufacture baby clothes
Computers are widely used by big companies who manufacture baby clothes (Baby Kleidung) . They help the manufacturers to be more efficient and productive. It is difficult to believe that 20 years prior to now we used to manage without computers and all the office work within these sorts of companies revolved around a paper filing system. All records of the companies clients, and previous orders made by clients are stored on the computer system. All correspondence with regards to deadlines, emails which are sent to and fro between companies whilst the order is in process are kept, so that these can easily be referred back on at a later date, with regards to pricing etc.
Computers within a baby clothes manufacturing, which makes clothing with Brand names (Babyboum) , are also used for accounting purposes. A database where all client information, such as telephone numbers and contact names is used. Letters can be typed and the addresses from this database can be accessed so that mail shots can be sent out, this allows the typist to just type a letter template and a code can be put in the address field, so that the typist does not have to enter hundreds of addresses. This saves time which means the office network is more productive.
Without computers, worker in the baby clothing industry would have to sift through mountains of paperwork, to find the price which had been offered previously to clients. Although, paper files are often kept as well as hard copy computer files, as back up for just incase the computer system crashes.
Receptionists within this industry often have phones which are linked to the computer system so that an external phone call can be transferred at the touch of a button. A diary of all the managers can also be stored on the computer, so that the receptionist would be able to inform callers when the person they wish to speak with would be back.
Baby clothing manufacturers have websites (built by outside sources), which promote the companies products and services. The clothing that they produced is on the website and it has prices for individual items and also for bulk buying. It also explains on the website about the time frame that the company works to, and also lists there current client base. A map can easily be found on-line, which shows a client where the company is situated.
Lap tops are also used within the baby clothing industry. Often all of the company’s information is stored on the lap top. So if one of the sales people is visiting a prospective client, all of the information that a client would require, would be in front of the sales representative at the touch of a button.
It is fair to say, taking all of the above into consideration that the use of computers to manufacture baby clothes is, of paramount importance to productivity, given the competitive market, in the era in which we live.
